Fresh food club popular
Porirua Schools Garden Club has been supporting schools by providing them with flowerbeds and fruit trees.
Natone Park, Russell, Titahi Bay North, Glenview and Corinna schools are part of a popular initiative that incorporates fresh vegetable and fruit gardening, and nutritious eating into their programmes.
Workshops the garden club has run include learning how to make soup, vegetable juicing, how to plant seeds, tree planting and garden maintenance.
