2008-09: Twenty-seven Castor Loop houses demolished with the promise of redevelopment. 2011: Letter received by residents detailing promises to keep them up to date and that the land would be put up for expressions of interest in 2012. The letter said the corporation expected to have a partnership agreement in place by mid to late 2012. March 2012: Lack of interest from private sector and social housing providers. November 2012: Answers to written parliamentary questions reveal limited expressions of interest for Castor Loop. Housing New Zealand reconsiders options. September 2013: Answers to written parliamentary questions reveal Housing New Zealand is considering options for redevelopment and will be in the position to discuss by the end of the year. November 2014: Mana MP Kris Faafoi questions Minister of Housing Bill English in parliamentary question time over the demolition of houses in Hazard Grove and Esk Place.
