Papakowhai parking safer

Kapi-Mana News - - NEWS -

Papakowhai children will find the trip to and from school a lot safer with the introduction of new parking restrictions approved by Te Komiti last Thursday.

The parking restrictions complement a kea crossing being introduced to help Papakowhai School children navigate across Tweed Rd.

There will also be parking restrictions introduced at Takapuwahia to help keep a busy intersection flowing smoothly, and to create a permanent 10-minute parking zone alongside a popular Lyttelton Ave coffee cart in Porirua’s CBD.

‘‘These changes make good road safety sense, particularly for the children of Papakowhai School,’’ Te Komiti chairman Euon Murrell said.

‘‘The new kea crossing will be easily seen by vehicles and pedestrians.’’
