Mu­seum set for bakeoff

Mu­seum of Wellington City & Sea, with its friends from Pi­rate & Queen Pro­duc­tions, is putting the sweet in sweet tooth with a spe­cial birth­day bakeoff to cel­e­brate the mu­seum’s 15th birth­day.

On Novem­ber 20, at 5.30pm, peo­ple will bring along their best cakes, and ex­perts from Dough Momma, Sweet Cakery & Bak­ery, Welles­ley Bou­tique Ho­tel, Eat & Greet and The Wellington Choco­late Fac­tory will judge the best cakes in five cat­e­gories.

Cat­e­gories are best his­tor­i­cal cake, best tast­ing cake, best look­ing cake, most in­ven­tive cake and the peo­ple’s choice.

To reg­is­ter a cake, email bakeoff@ pi­rate­andqueen. co. nz by Novem­ber 18. The first 12 to reg­is­ter will re­ceive a gift from the mu­seum on the night.

The evening will con­sist of live mu­sic by jazz mu­si­cian Dayle Jel­ly­man, danc­ing, hot cho­co­lates by The Wellington Choco­late Fac­tory and cake. En­try is by cake or koha.
