TIME TO CUT RURAL SPEED LIMITS?
Speeds may be cut on some of Porirua’s rural roads to better suit the environment – but rst we want to hear your views. The Council and the New Zealand Transport Agency are working together on proposed safety improvements to SH58/Haywards Hill and its connecting roads in the Pauatahanui/Judgeford area. The Transport Agency is considering cutting speed limits on: SH58/Haywards Hill between Pauatahanui and SH2 from 100 to 80km/h, and Between Postgate Drive roundabout and Pauatahanui roundabout to 70km/h. In response, the Council is looking to cut the speed limit from 100km/h to 70km/h on Bradey, Belmont, Flightys, Murphys, Mulhern and Moonshine roads. It’s also proposing to reduce the speed limit on Coroglen Rise (off Airlie Road) from 100 km/h to 60km/h. We’d like to hear your views on these proposals before 22 January 2015.
