Porirua’s com­mu­ni­ties are set­ting their own vi­sion for the fu­ture of their neigh­bour­hoods and this Thurs­day three new Vil­lage Plans are be­ing pre­sented to the Coun­cil. As­cot Park, Ti­tahi Bay and Taka­puwahia com­mu­ni­ties have de­vel­oped the plans, by sur­vey­ing res­i­dents to nd out how they want their neigh­bour­hoods im­proved. The work’s been done in part­ner­ship with the Coun­cil’s Vil­lage Plan­ning Pro­gramme. The plans will be adopted by the Coun­cil and will help guide fu­ture de­vel­op­ment of the vil­lages. There are cur­rently 12 vil­lages work­ing with the Vil­lage Plan­ning Pro­gramme. It’s re­sulted in the de­vel­op­ment of ev­ery­thing from safer streets and new walk­ways to com­mu­nity art works and events. Find out more at - search vil­lage plan­ning.
