Taking the high road to Christmas
A trip to Melbourne inspired a tasty way to raise money for families who will go without this Christmas.
Organisers Tanya Macdonald and Lucy Creighton usually run a Christmas breakfast brunch, but decided to do something different this year and hold a Ladies High Tea.
Proceeds are to go to St Anne’s Pantry foodbank.
‘‘I thought it wouldn’t be too hard to do, but would be a good community outreach,’’ Macdonald said.
‘‘It’s about making sure families have a good Christmas.’’
The high tea will take place at St Mary’s Anglican Church in Whitby, and Macdonald said she was hoping to have 100 people attend.
‘‘We want to fill it. We’ve got all our bakers ready to go.’’
