‘‘Spring is a good time to check to see if you are on the best deal. As the seasons change, so do our power needs.

‘‘Different sized households also have different needs depending on their lifestyle, and these statistics show that families of all sizes could make significant savings by shopping around.’’

There were 10,604 actual switches in the Wellington region and 96,407 nationally over winter.

What’s My Number is run by the Electricity Authority in partnership with Consumer New Zealand.
