About 27 mil­lion peo­ple in the world to­day are vic­tims of hu­man trafficking. Ev­ery year 120,000 women and chil­dren are traf­ficked into Euro­pean Union coun­tries alone, with 90 per cent of them be­ing sold into sex slav­ery.
