Swimming warning

Kapi-Mana News - - NEWS -

Kapiti Coast District Council has warned against swimming in three Kapiti streams after they posted high bacterial counts in testing.

It comes as the council reveals all the district streams are likely to have spiked bacterial counts.

The streams were the Wharemaukau with its outlet near Marine Gardens in Raumati, the Titoku near the Kapiti Boating Club and the Waimeha in north Waikanae.

Environmental health team leader Julie Lloyd said the high levels of bacteria were because of low water flow in the streams and high temperatures.
