Judgeford’s course record has been broken, with Alistair Crump firing a 65 at the recent strokeplay championships.

Crump is a member of the Judgeford division 1 interclub team.

His score, achieved on February 22, was one out of the box, said interclub captain Joe Cuthers.

‘‘He had a disappointing opening round [83], but the 65 in the third round was amazing,’’ Cuthers said.

‘‘The previous record [66] had stood for four years.

’’A number of players have struggled on the course, so it was an impressive effort.’’

The 65 helped Crump finish second in the strokeplay champs, three shots behind club captain Ben Duflou.

Duflou scored 78, 77, 68 and 76 in his four rounds.

The intermediate men’s division was won by Gerard Arthurs; Philip Leung took out the junior A men’s section; Terry Skerten won the junior men’s B section; the senior women’s grade was won by Saida Wilson and the intermediate women’s champion was Lyn Farnsworth.
