Motorway warning during road works
NZ Transport Agency is urging drivers to stay alert as work on the motorway project between Ngauranga and Aotea Quay moves up a gear.
The current work site is to be extended by more than half a kilometre to prepare for the removal of the existing barriers, and the lowered speed limit (70kmh) will also be extended.
In preparation for the barrier removal work to progress south, another 600 metres of southbound lanes will be remarked, narrowed and moved away from the centre of the road.
The motorway upgrade is due to be operational by April 2016.
