Mr Rental’s Bob Pavis-Hall is upping efforts to help his community by donating the use of treadmills to volunteer firefighters training for the Sky Tower Stair Challenge.

Six members of the Titahi Bay Volunteer Fire Brigade are training and fundraising for the 2015 Firefighter Sky Tower Stair Challenge, on May 23.

They are aiming to raise muchneeded support for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.

Mr Rental Porirua and the firefighters recently took the cause to the community at the North City Shopping Centre, training on the equipment in their full kit. They have now raised nearly $2000, with more than $770 of that coming from shoppers.

‘‘Our volunteer firefighters already do such a great job and participating in this challenge is another example of how these inspiring individuals go above and beyond for our community,’’ Pavis-Hall said.

‘‘Mr Rental has been a part of the Porirua community for 11 years and as a local business owner I recognise the important of giving something back.’’
