Crump shines for Judge­ford

Alis­tair Crump is hav­ing an ex­cel­lent sea­son even as his Judge­ford pre­mier golf team strug­gle in the Otaki Cup in­ter­club com­pe­ti­tion.

Judge­ford went down 10.5- 4.5 to Shan­don at Mi­ra­mar on Satur­day.

Only Crump and Dud­ley Asi recorded a win – 2/ 1 in the morn­ing four­somes.

Brent Wal­ton and Kiki Maepu halved their match and Judge­ford went into the sin­gles be­hind 3.5- 1.5.

Three more points were earned in the sin­gles, as Garth Lip­pit and Crump won their matches and Maepu and No 1 Michael Payne halved theirs.

Many matches were close and Judge­ford were un­for­tu­nate not to earn more points.

Judge­ford are ly­ing at the bot­tom of the Otaki Cup stand­ings, on 14.5 points, but only 5.5 points be­hind sec­ond- placed Master­ton.

This week­end they have the bye.

Mean­while, in di­vi­sion two’s Waikanae Cup, Ti­tahi lie sec­ond on 31.5 points, well be­hind Boul­cott’s Farm ( 48), but com­fort­ably in front of Carter­ton ( 24).
