Crump shines for Judgeford
Alistair Crump is having an excellent season even as his Judgeford premier golf team struggle in the Otaki Cup interclub competition.
Judgeford went down 10.5- 4.5 to Shandon at Miramar on Saturday.
Only Crump and Dudley Asi recorded a win – 2/ 1 in the morning foursomes.
Brent Walton and Kiki Maepu halved their match and Judgeford went into the singles behind 3.5- 1.5.
Three more points were earned in the singles, as Garth Lippit and Crump won their matches and Maepu and No 1 Michael Payne halved theirs.
Many matches were close and Judgeford were unfortunate not to earn more points.
Judgeford are lying at the bottom of the Otaki Cup standings, on 14.5 points, but only 5.5 points behind second- placed Masterton.
This weekend they have the bye.
Meanwhile, in division two’s Waikanae Cup, Titahi lie second on 31.5 points, well behind Boulcott’s Farm ( 48), but comfortably in front of Carterton ( 24).
