Something to cheer about
There were mixed results for Porirua’s kickboxing talent at Honour 8, held at New Zealand Kennel Club on March 14.
Local hero Adam Manisy won a tough fight against Wellington’s Carl Tangen, earning a technical knockout in the second round. The experienced Ngapera Parata, meanwhile, taking to the ring for her 19th fight, lost a close one to Miriam Tio (Auckland).
Rosie Duxfield won a unanimous decision against Louise Fuller (Dannevirke) and Ants Bennett lost to Kieran Garcia (Wellington). Promoter Kevin Dick said Porirua fighters Vivian ReesBoland and Clint Dysart both performed well in their novice bouts in front of a home crowd.
