A new seat has been added at the favourite Titahi Bay lookout of John and Barbara Watson.

John Watson died last year. He was considered the godfather of Porirua politics and gave years of dedicated, voluntary service to the city. He received a civic award from Porirua City Council in 2009.

Graeme Ebbett, chairman of Titahi Bay Residents Association, of which John Watson was a member, said the seat and plaque were a fitting tribute to the Watsons. He acknowledged the work the council had done with the Watson family to install it.

Joan Cuttriss is worried about the proposed changes at Aotea Pathology.
