The demise of Trash Palace

My daugh­ter, Maryanne Mag­ill shared (April 7) her con­cern about the ero­sion of ser­vices to men­tal health pa­tients in and around Porirua and Ti­tahi Bay.

I re­fer to a com­ment from the dis­trict health board that ‘‘Trash Palace will be re­placed by a bet­ter model to as­sist with the re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of men­tal health pa­tients’’.

From vis­it­ing my daugh­ter for over 31 years at Porirua and Ti­tahi Bay, I am very sus­pi­cious about how the Gov­ern­ment uses the ter­mi­nol­ogy, ‘‘Trust us, we have a bet­ter model to re­place (what­ever)’’.
