Council online survey: Is the water at our beaches clean?

Kapi-Mana News - - NEWS -

Wellington Regional Council wants to hear residents’ opinions on the quality of water in their harbours and rivers.

A short, online survey will run until May 6 aiming to get feedback on different aspects of the region’s rivers and coasts.

Regional council senior environmental scientist Summer Greenfield said the survey would also seek comment about the way recreational water quality monitoring was reported and how people liked to get information.

‘‘ Whether it’s swimming at Oriental Bay or surfing at Castlepoint, we’re keen to hear where and when people are getting in the water,’’ she said.

‘‘This information will help us improve our recreational water quality monitoring programme and the way we make the results available.’’

People who complete the survey will have an opportunity to enter the draw for a 3SIXT HD sports action camera or an iPod shuffle and Bassburger pocket speakers.
