Olympic end Wests’ unbeaten game run

Western Suburbs went down 2-0 to Wellington Olympic in a tough Central League football contest at Wakefield Park on Saturday.

Having already hit the post, Olympic broke through just before halftime when midfielder Hugo Reeve fired a shot into the top corner.

In the second spell, Wests struggled to hold the Olympic midfield and in the 83rd minute, Alex Palezevic sealed the game with Olympic’s second goal. It was Wests’ first loss of the season.

Tawa suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Stop Out at Endeavour Park.

In a goalless first half, Tawa looked the better side and were unlucky to have a couple of shots cleared off the line.

However, it was Stop Out who broke the deadlock when they were awarded a penalty midway through the second half.

Steven Gulley made no mistake, leaving Stop Out to celebrate and Tawa to ponder what might have been.
