It was a big day for businesses and organisations on Saturday as the best of Porirua was exhibited at Te Rauparaha Arena in the 2015 Porirua Expo.

About 5000 attended the expo and were interested to find out what makes Porirua tick.

Businesses and organisations showcased what they had to offer and an information site for Transmission Gully and Porirua City Council’s long-term plan were two of the more popular attractions.

Numbers at the expo were similar to last year, with a steady flow throughout the day.

Membership and events manager of Porirua Chamber of Commerce Aleisha Rouse said visitors she spoke to enjoyed what was on offer and believed there was something for everyone.

The expo had everything from careers and sports to local businesses on show.

Rouse said the 2016 expo would also have the theme of having everything under the one roof.

‘‘We want to show off as much of Porirua as we can,’’ she said.
