An airport at Pauatahanui?

Should there be an international airport at Pauatahanui?

Find out in the great Zonta-Rotary celebrity debate at Porirua Little Theatre on June 14.

Two teams of celebrities will debate the motion that ‘‘Pauatahanui Inlet should be filled in and turned into an international airport’’.

Will the airport get the green light? Is it an economic reality? Will it tie in nicely with the development of Transmission Gully?

If the inlet was filled in, would there be enough space to construct an international airport with a runway longer than Wellington has?

Two star casts of celebrities, invited by Plimmerton Rotary and Mana Zonta, will debate the issue.

The celebrities’ names are a well-kept secret, but entertainment is guaranteed. The adjudicator will also be a personality who will lend the occasion an air of distinction.

Proceeds from the event go towards the construction of an information board on Te Ara Piko – The Meandering Path – around the inlet.

Bring your own nibbles and non- alcoholic drinks. Alcohol will be available at the bar. Seating will be arranged in tables of between six and eight people, so you could make up a party of friends and take a whole table.
