If Porirua Vikings make Wellington club rugby league’s grand final in August, they will run out on Westpac Stadium.
Wellington Rugby League confirmed last week the grand final would be a curtainraiser to the New Zealand Warriors v St George NRL fixture on August 8.
It will be the first of three games that day, followed by the Holden Cup match between the NRL clubs’ under-20 sides, then the big match.
Wellington Rugby League general manager Jason Hemson said it was an exciting opportunity for the premier players and supporters to be part of a big day at Westpac Stadium.
‘‘We’ve been working with Shane [Harmon] at the stadium and Jim [Doyle] and his team at the Warriors to lock this down and it is fantastic that we can now proceed with the planning of the day,’’ he said.
Kickoff times on August 8 are to be confirmed.
