Community work for stealing tools
A Titahi Bay man has been convicted of stealing $168 worth of tools from Mitre 10 Mega Porirua.
Fala Lepou, 28, appeared in Porirua District Court last Tuesday, facing one charge of theft.
The court was told that Lepou stole an 11-piece spanner set and a seven-piece metric gear spanner set valued at $168.98 from the Porirua home improvement store on April 2.
Defence lawyer Peter Ross said it was Lepou’s second shoplifting charge and that he had been in prison before.
Judge Arthur Tompkins ordered Lepou to complete 100 hours of community work.
