Aotea Block query

Kapi-Mana News - - OPINION -

If my memory serves me right, when Roger Blakely sold the parcel of land known at the time as Aotea Block for the measly sum of $6 million to help fund the cost of building Te Rauparaha Arena, I am sure it was reported that it would be able to accommodate 600 houses and a 300-bed nursing home.

Now Carrus (June 9) is saying that it has developed the land for a 1000 houses, with another 500 to go.

If this is so, then where has all the extra money gone for all the extra land?

With the price of the sections, $20 million would not have been enough for all that land.
