Tour follows in steps of Te Rauparaha
A bus tour around Wellington’s west coast and exploring historic sites of interest of Ngati Toa Rangatira has been organised as part of Te Papa’s Matariki programme this year.
The tour will put a spotlight on the Kapiti and Mana areas and its significant history, and will allow people to walk in the steps of Ngati Toa chiefs, including Te Rauparaha.
The focus will be about exploring the dramatic history of Ngati Toa Rangatira on the ground where it unfolded.
The tour is happening on Saturday, June 27, and will run from 9am till 1pm. A lunch at Takapuwahia Marae will follow.
