Delays still likely around Mana link
NZ Transport Agency is urging drivers to be cautious of delays around Mana Esplanade as a major upgrade gets under way of the road surface of State Highway 1.
Significant delays were observed when roadworks began and some enhancements to traffic management have already been put in place to improve traffic flow.
However, delays are still likely owing to the challenging nature of carrying out roadworks on such a busy highway.
Work is happening only outside rush hour and will be completed by mid-July.
More than 30,000 vehicles used Mana Esplanade every day.
The upgrade is from the New World to Acheron Rd in the northbound lanes, and from Pascoe Ave to the Paremata Bridge in the southbound lanes.
