From 17 Au­gust 2015, the Depart­ment of Con­ser­va­tion Po¯neke/ Welling­ton Of­fice in­tends to ap­ply bait to con­trol pos­sums and ro­dents within the 130ha Colo­nial Knob Scenic Re­serve. Fer­a­tox strik­ers con­tain­ing cyanide to con­trol pos­sums and Pestoff Rat Bait ce­real pel­lets con­tain­ing dipha­ci­none to con­trol ro­dents will be placed in ex­isitng bait sta­tions. These pes­ti­cides are poi­sionous to hu­mans and do­mes­tic an­i­mals. Al­ways re­mem­ber: DO NOT touch bait WATCH CHIL­DREN at all times DO NOT EAT an­i­mals from this area DO NOT Al­low dogs ac­cess to an­i­mal car­casses.

Ob­serve these rules when­ever you see warn­ing signs placed at the public ac­cess ways to Colo­nial Knob Scenic Re­serve.
