FROM THE EDITOR
Make sure you catch up with two of our regular columnists this week. Janie Walker’s Boat People is on page 37. Janie is gradually getting back into civilisation mode after her adventure last year sailing around the Pacific. She’s dealing with some pressing questions – what to now she’s back in Porirua and whether she should embark on another grand sailing adventure, and if so, where. I’m picking readers will salute her choices.
And Alan Knowsley’s Legal Matters on page 42 deals with building contracts. Many of us have embarked on some sort of building project and will know about the problems associated with finding good workmen and with trying to co-ordinate the plasterer, electrician, carpet-layer and plumber.
Besides that minefield, there are other traps and Legal Matters discusses the importance of having a good contract in place with the major workmen. It can certainly save a lot of heartache later if the contract is sound.
