A Porirua man has been sentenced to home detention for providing false information to the Companies Office.

Christopher Michael Andrews appeared in Porirua District Court on January 27 and pleaded guilty to providing a false statement and being a person prohibited from managing a company.

The 57-year-old was sentenced to two months and one week of home detention.

Andrews is the former director of Metro Security Ltd and Surveillance Specialists Ltd, which were struck off the Companies Office register in 2002 and 2004 respectively.

In 2013 he formed another company, Warrior Group Ltd, when he was disqualified, signing a new name so that he would not be found out.

Andrews was convicted in Porirua District Court in 2013 of dishonestly obtaining a vehicle, misusing a cheque and stealing a uniform and pager from the New Zealand Fire Service.

He acknowledged that what he had done was dishonest, including using a false name.

Warrior Group was struck off the business list in 2014 as well.
