Another shop gone from CBD
Another site has become vacant in the Porirua CBD with Extreme Dance moving to Paremata.
The dance studio, run by Emma Johnson and John Linkhorn, used to be above the iSite in Cobham Court.
However, owing to changes in the city centre and a plan to demolish the section of the building the dance studio used, the move, which occurred on January 30, had to happen.
Director John Linkhorn said the move came after 15 years of being in the CBD location, but it was a fantastic day and was a great way to introduce the new studio.
Extreme Dance now operates from 5 Paremata Cres, Paremata.
‘‘We’re excited to be in a fantastic location in Paremata, and it was great to have so many families come and be part of our open day,’’ Linkhorn said.
Visitors were able to tour the newly refurbished 600 squaremetre complex, which includes four soundproof dance studios with fully sprung floors.
Guests were treated to performances by students who had just returned from the national dance championships in Australia and a performance by Extreme Dance’s new hip-hop tutor, Shae King.
Kirsten Ocampo is one of many superstars to have been through Extreme Dance.
