Many Porirua residents will recall The Fource barbershop quartet from Aotea College. Knoxana Leasi, Olivia Samuel, Theadora Esera and Georgina Peniamina made up The Fource, a quartet that embarked on three overseas trips and won a heap of titles on the national stage.

We catch up with the four singers in this week’s Flashback on page 18. One has moved to Australia and the others are living in Wellington, but they have obviously retained their sparkle and joy of singing.

But the 16-year-old competed in the Wellington open athletics champs this month and came away with gold and silver in the shot put and discus, a tremendous achievement.
