Kapi-Mana News - - CLASSIFIED CLASSIFIED -

Aotea College sailors have been up with the best around in recent weeks.

Ryan Tait came second and Jack Matthews seventh in the starling class at the Yachting New Zealand Wellington schools sail- ing regatta at Paremata on February 10.

George Powell and Ben White finished second in the two-man topaz competition.

Three days later, Ryan won the starling class at the Worser Bay regatta and Wellington youth championships.

In the North Island champs in mid-January, the 14-year-old finished 27th in a 54-boat fleet, and at the end of January at the Auckland junior championships he was 20th of 49 entrants, despite missing one race because of a hole in his boat from a pre-start incident.

Ryan started sailing a starling only this racing season, so his improvement has been dramatic.

Ryan Tait has been proving himself in the starling class lately.
