St Theresa’s School promises fun-filled day
The St Theresa’s School carnival returns on Saturday.
School principal Donna McDonald said she was impressed by how much the school community got behind the event.
‘‘I’m certain it will be a funfilled day for all and am really excited to be a part of it,’’ she said.
Money raised from the event will go towards upgrading IT equipment at the school.
A free entertainment programme will be led by Clube do Choro, a choro band that will add a Brazilian jazz vibe.
Younger children will be spoilt for choice – games include bouncy castles, slides and the chance to get their photo taken with Wellington’s very own Iron Man.
Performances by Frozen’s Elsa and Olaf, and Rapunzel will take place throughout the day. Children will have a chance to meet and greet the characters.
Older children will be kept entertained with electric cars, bumper boats, a paintball shooting range and lots of traditional games, such as money golf and a smash palace.
Ambulance and fire services will also be on hand to give demonstrations.
The St Theresa’s Carnival offers bargains, including used books, toys and clothing plus some nifty crafts.
For the sweet-toothed, homemade sweets and freshly baked cakes will be hot favourites. The garden stall is also a major feature.
There will be quick-fire raffles all day.
