The Kapi-Mana Music Festival charitable trust is calling for entries for this year’s music festival and competitions.

The invitation to take part in this annual festival is open to all music students in the Wellington region from year 1 to college age, and also to home-schooled children.

Entrants can be mentalists or vocalists.

The festival will run over Queen’s Birthday Weekend –

instru- June 3 till 6 – at Pataka.

There will be two performance groups.

The competition category will be highly competitive and performers will be judged in three age groups – years 1-5, 6-8 and college age. The overall winner will perform with the Tawa Community Orchestra.

The non-competitive category will give the opportunity to young musicians to share their love of music at whatever standard they have achieved.

Festival organiser Carolyn Rait, of Whitby said they would have the opportunity to stand up on stage, perform to the best of their ability to a supportive audience and would receive a performance certificate.

Entries close on May 13. Details of the festival can be found at kapimanamusic.org.nz. Queries can be made to Carolyn Rait 021 1210218 or 2347422.
