Tawa-Lyn­d­hurst Ten­nis Club cleaned up at the Ten­nis Cen­tral awards on May 13.

The club, who beat Thorn­don in a thrilling men’s in­ter­club fi­nal in March, won the club of the year ti­tle and Mar­cel Glover, who lost just one sin­gles match all club sea­son, was given the premier 1 player of the year gong.

Tawa-Lyn­d­hurst also won the An­thony Adams Cup for win­ning the be­fore-Christ­mas round.

The club’s men’s cap­tain, Fran­cis Glover, said the cul­ture in the team, with play­ers train­ing to­gether and play­ing for each other, made the dif­fer­ence.

‘‘An awe­some achieve­ment for the club and hope­fully we can do it all again next sea­son,’’ he said.

The Kapi-Mana ten­nis team was awarded the rep­re­sen­ta­tive tro­phy, after win­ning the com­pe­ti­tion in­volv­ing Welling­ton, Hutt Val­ley, Wairarapa, Wan­ganui, Taranaki and Manawatu.
