FROM THE EDITOR
Our front page story this week is about the retirement of Susanne Jungersen, long-time principal of Porirua College.
The work Jungersen and her staff have put into our young people for the past 20 years has been outstanding and the gradually increasing roll-based NCEA pass rates at every level are proof of that.
Many will remember the time when the school buildings of Porirua College were leaky, mouldy and cold, but under Jungersen’s leadership the school was one of the first in the country to get a rebuild.
The team at the Kapi-Mana News wish Jungersen all the best for the future and good luck to whoever steps into her big shoes.
