Vik­ings lose to Rand­wick

An­other three-try haul, to the Rand­wick wing Ray­mond Ah Wong, and two touch­downs by Jesse Oloapu meant Rand­wick beat the Porirua Vik­ings 54-14 at Nae­nae Park on Satur­day, after lead­ing 28-4 at half­time.

It was Rand­wick out­side back Lin­coln Ti­mo­teo’s 50th pre­mier match, while his team­mate Bron­son Marino scored 18 points with a try and seven goals from 10 at­tempts.

Te Aroha Eels also turned on the gas in the se­cond half to beat the St Ge­orge Dragons 62-4 after lead­ing 18-4 at half­time. The Eels scored 11 tries, with Jon-Marc Stow­ers scor­ing three.

In the other games, Wainuiomata beat Pe­tone 46-16, Up­per Hutt de­faulted to Uni­ver­sity and Whiti Te Ra had a bye.
