FROM THE EDITOR

Kapi-Mana News - - FRONT PAGE -

We’ve had a couple of chilly days, quite cool for Porirua, but hearts will be warm after this weekend’s rugby showdowns.

Both the Hurricanes and Tawa overcame losses at the start of their campaigns to lift their respective trophies, see P1 and 48.

Being able to be a small part of the maiden title win for the Canes will be something the Porirua kids from Paremata Plimmerton will remember for a long time to come.

However, things are not quite as rosy in the race for Porirua’s top title - Mayor, see P3.

So far there is only one candidate who has put up their hand for the job. If no one else comes forward then it is all over on Friday.

Hopefully that is not the case and we can have good candidates, who are passionate about Porirua and help generate debate on what this city needs.
