CBD design feedback sought
Porirua City Council are seeking public views on the designs for the city’s CBD.
The council are working on designs to make the central city a livelier and more ‘‘people-friendly space’’, a spokeswoman said.
Already in place are new toilets and a food kiosk, while temporary landscaping work has started on the former i-SITE location.
Future plans for this spot include more landscaping, an enhanced connection to Ferry Place and the railway station, a new children’s play and wet play areas, plus some shading from the sun. There will also be new paving, seating and lighting.
Check out the images of the designs in the windows of the 123 Mart at 18 Hartham Place or view them at pcc.govt.nz.
You can share your opinions on the council’s Facebook page or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. There are also drop-in sessions between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, August 13, and 5pm till 8pm on Thursday, August 25, at the 123 Mart.
Submissions close on September 9. Work will start in the CBD early next year.
