Look­ing for a dif­fer­ent type of out­ing these hol­i­days?

Head along to the Wrights Hill Fortress open day on Wed­nes­day 28th De­cem­ber, be­tween 10am and 4pm.

Vis­i­tors will be able to show them­selves through the Fortress with a free map and his­tory pam­phlet. The walk usu­ally takes one hour. The Fortress was built in World War Two to pro­tect Welling­ton and its en­vi­rons from en­emy at­tack or in­va­sion from the Pa­cific.

Ad­mis­sion is $20 for a fam­ily of two adults and three chil­dren un­der 15, or $8 for an adult and $5 for a child. Cash only please. Ac­cess is along Karori Road, left into Camp­bell Street and right into Wrights Hill Road.

There is plenty of car park­ing at the top of Wrights Hill Road.

Bring a torch for some fun but no jan­dals please!
