Dog bylaws digging up discussion
With almost a quarter of homes in Porirua having a dog as part of the family, we asked Neighbourly users if it was time the council started looking at making a dog exercise park. dogs that run away when gates are open so a full fenced area would be great for them.
DEBRA ASHTON, WHITBY
Yes it does. There are great ones in both Featherston and Greytown. They are huge - guesstimate, about an acre. Great for peace of mind and ‘‘animal control’’ when out exercising the dog, PCC. Dogs love it!
KEEP YOUR DOG ON A LEAD
There once was a little boy called Timmy.
He just loved the birds who lived around his house.
Timmy was surrounded by birds in this beautiful place, but secretly he wished he had some chickens of his very own to look after. Sometimes he dreamed they lived in his garden.
Christmas morning came and he woke early. He couldn’t believe his ears. It was chickens.
Every night, they went to bed in their special chicken house.
Timmy thought he’d be happy forever. But one awful day, a big dog came and took them away.
The passing of Sir Roger Moore came as a blast from the past for our family, a blast triggered by NZ broadcaster Brian Hudson’s accidental look-alike career trying not to be James Bond or The Saint. During the 60s and 70s Brian was a BBC news reader in London, and was often mistaken for Moore.
It could have been said that James Bond was really from Titahi Bay and began his career performing in Porirua Little Theatre’s now condemned historic theatre venue.
