School collects cans for good

Kapi-Mana News - - CONVERSATIONS -

Titahi Bay School pupils combined fundraising with learning when they collected over 600 cans forWaitangirua’s Salvation Army.

The children then dressed up and made a pyramid with the cans to celebrate the lessons they had been doing on ancient history and what they had learnt.

Porirua Salvation Army manager Geoff O’Halloran said the organisation was delighted to receive the contribution.

‘‘One box plus one family equals 3 days without hunger.

‘‘We are delighted to receive the cans.’’

Watties will match the number of cans collected as part of their ‘‘Cans for Good’’ initiative.
