MPs say cheese
O¯ taki MP Nathan Guy enjoyed hosting National’s economic development spokesman Paul Goldsmith for local business.
Visiting Fonterra’s cheese factory in Te Roto Drive in Paraparaumu was a highlight where they got to understand the cheese-making process and turned some cheese.
The Fonterra factory employs 60 people where they produce three well known cheese brands — Kapiti, Mainland Special Reserve and Galaxy.
The retail shop opened in 2015 and is proving very popular with customers sourcing locally made cheese.
The MPs also visited Tuatara, Woodhaven Gardens, Horowhenua District Council, Horowhenua Chronicle and Beach FM.
Mr Goldsmith flew Air Chathams into Kapiti Coast Airport and was impressed with the new service through to Auckland.
