Tournament helps Life Flight
Last month the Waikanae Bridge Club held a charity tournament in support of Life Flight Trust at their clubrooms raising over $1800.
With major sponsor Charles Fleming Retirement Village, the club was also generously supported by local businesses and members who donated a variety of products and vouchers.
From meat packs and toiletries to wine and meal vouchers, there was a total of 18 raffle prizes.
The tournament was well supported with players from around the region including Wellington, Victoria, O¯ taki, Kapi-Mana and Paraparaumu Bridge clubs with Waikanae members providing afternoon tea.
Throughout the afternoon of bridge, Waikanae club director Alice Stevenson awarded spot prizes for things such as winning a trick with a two, first pair to make four hearts or the last table to finish a round.
Congratulations to winners Elva Brown and Chris Farrow and second placegetters Gattsche and Judy Plimmer.
When receiving the cheque, Sebastian Grodd from Life Flight Trust commented on how Ka¯ piti was a strong and generous supporter of the organisation and how grateful they were of the support.
Thank you to all who helped make this a fun and successful day in support of Life Flight.
