FROM THE EDITOR
It’s December, often the time that is a boon for retailers.
However, the November earthquakes have meant that many places around the region are closed, covered in scaffolding or hard to get to.
The danger of this is that we will be tempted to drive further afield to do Christmas shopping or stock up for the holidays.
It is hard times like these when it is more important to support our local retailers and ensure they survive.
The last thing we want is to get back from the beach and find some of our favourite shops gone for good.
