Kapiti Observer - - FRONT PAGE -

A Ka¯piti Coast district councillor accused of indecent assault is to appear in court again in October to set a date for his trial

David John Scott, 71, has pleaded not guilty to the charge that he pressed himself against a female council worker in front of the mayor on April 13.

A trial date in December is expected to be confirmed. Wellington District Court judge Denys Barry remanded him on continued bail.

The conditions include that he must not associate with the complainant, or with three witnesses except within business hours for council work, and that they must not discuss the case.
