We are head­ing into the sum­merand fes­tive sea­son with plenty planned on the cal­en­dar.

Ihope­manyof youwill be head­ing toTECT Park on Satur­day to join us for the park’s 10th birth­day party.

I be­lieve Santa is headin­gupthere in a chop­per and there are­many fam­ily events planned for the day plus a laser light­showand big screen con­cert for the night cel­e­bra­tions.

Weare ex­tremely proud of the pro­gress­madeat the park.

It has set the bench­mark for wilder­ness parks in­NewZealand and its multi-award win­ning sta­tus is the re­sult of the strong­man­age­ment team at the park and the col­lab­o­ra­tive spir­itwe­have with Tau­ranga City Coun­cil and our other great part­ner, the Tau­ranga En­ergy Con­sumer Trust.

An­in­ter­est­ing ini­tia­tiveweare start­ing over­sum­mer­will be to em­ploy two Free­dom Camp­ing Am­bas­sadors dur­ing the peak hol­i­day sea­son to visit our­many camp­ing spots tomakesure ev­ery­one is en­joy­ing their stay.

The En­joy your stay in the Western Bay cam­paign has been­made avail­able to coun­cil through the Min­istry of Busi­ness, In­no­va­tion and Em­ploy­ment’s ded­i­cated Re­spon­si­ble Camp­ing Fund.

If you see these am­bas­sadors out and about— please wel­come them and have a chat about your stay in the Western Bay.

It’s all go in­Omoko­roaw­ith the start of con­struc­tion on the Omoko­roaR­dur­ban­i­sa­tion, from WesternAve to Tralee St by the J Swap­con­struc­tion team.

Piri­rakau hapu¯ kauma¯tu­aTame Kuk­ab­lessed the site and to­geth­erwe turned the sod on what is the first of the five projects planned to be com­pleted in Omoko­roaover the next two years.

There will be traf­fic dis­rup­tion dur­ing this project— but I knowthe com­mu­nity is well pre­pared for it and will be pa­tient dur­ing the course of the work.

The TechOpen Day­will be held from3pmto 6pm.
