Lettuce get arty!

Everyone knows lettuces are good for us. They are loaded with healthy nutrients and they give our burgers the essential crunch! They are also fun to grow.

Get Creative !

Lettuces come in all sorts of colours and shapes. Use them to make beautiful patterns. Mix them with flowers or herbs, grow them in pots or in hanging baskets. You can even make a wall of lettuces!

Lettuces grow super fast in spring.

Choose from all the different varieties at the garden centre or sow your own from seed. The ‘loose-leaf’ lettuces, such as ‘Tom Thumb’, ‘Buttercrunch’ and ‘Red Oak’ are easy to grow. You can pick their leaves while they keep on growing, so you won’t need to destroy your creative display. A great way to start your lettuce adventure is to buy a mixed packet of seed such as Yates Baby Combo. Yates Salad Green Fusion makes it easy to grow a colourful mix, with different varieties bonded together into one small pellet.

Thanks to St Albans Catholic School of Christchurch for this

cool idea.
