Kids Go Gardening - - News -

KAKABEAK (‘kowhaingutu-kaka’) is an endangered NZ shrub whose flowers are shaped like a kaka’s beak. The kaka is one of our colourful native parrots. It uses its strong beak to dig beetle grubs from wood and seeds from kauri cones. It also eats berries, flowers, insects and nectar.
