FROM THE EDITOR
Hello and welcome to my very first issue of Little Treasures! Allow me to introduce myself. I have been in the parenting game for just under two years now, with an adorable, yet mischievous, munchkin named Poppy. As all parents come to find, my little treasure has taken over every corner of my world. And, as new parents will soon discover, you quickly develop a habit of telling close friends, and - I’ll be honest - total strangers all about bubba’s eating habits, sleep issues, hilarious quirks, first words, likes, dislikes, new skills and even her bowel movements. Even when I pop away from Poppy for date night, all we really do is talk about her. It’s hard to understand until you have your own little bundle of joy, but as soon as you do, detailed conversations about overflowing nappies becomes completely normal and natural. Now, having taken the reigns at my favourite parenting magazine, I get to talk about my most-loved subject all day, every day. I’d love to hear from new parents, so please write in and share your stories with us. To make my welcome that little bit more magical, as we were putting this issue together, our editor-in-chief, Melissa Gardi, gave birth to a gorgeous wee girl, Isabella (see her cute little face to the right of this page). Somehow, Melissa managed to write three features for this issue: the babymoon special on page 50, where she takes us away on her fabulous journey to the luxurious Kauri Cliffs; the four-page baby shower guide on page 54, which focuses on Melissa’s beautiful pre-baby bash; and the craft section on page 119, a fantastic nursery DIY piece showing you how easy it is to throw together a warm and inviting room for baby - even barefoot and eight months pregnant! Welcome to motherhood, Melissa! And if, like me, you are new here, welcome to Little Treasures.
